Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!

In other words…Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Of course, I couldn’t let the day go by without sending a St. Paddy’s day greeting to all of you. Already I’ve found my email and Facebook page flooded with St. Patrick Day salutations and themed events. What a way to start the day!

So, what can be said of Ireland’s patron saint that hasn’t already been said?

Well, though I’m sure it’s been said before, the one thing that comes to mind when I think of Patrick (Pádraig to the Irish), is that he was a man who knew what it was to walk with God in all that he did. He understood the importance of considering Christ in every action.

Nothing illustrates that better than his prayer, known as Saint Patrick’s Breastplate. I posted it in it’s entirety a year ago here.

The ardency of those words can still be felt now, 1,582 years later.

May the words richly bless you as you set out on this most verdant of holidays!
