Hey Clan!
Whew! 2022 was quite a ride, wasn’t it? We’re now well into the new year. Happy 2023!
On December 6, 2022, we culminated the launch of my first historical fiction series with the Tale of the Clans Launch Party.
We received a fantastic turnout and I so appreciate all the love and support from the Clan. It was a learning experience, to be sure, and I’ll share a little bit more about that later. But first, as promised, the recap!

Tale of the Clans Launch Party Hiccups
So when you undertake your first launch party it’s a given that you’ll experience some hiccups along the way.
I’m not talking about the literal kind. Though, I suppose there are authors who may have experienced literal hiccup fits at their first launch party.
No, I mean certain accidents will occur due to nerves or newbie missteps. In my case, it was a technical hiccup of sorts.
You see, I accidentally spliced my Zoom video. As it turns out, doing a launch party across two platforms is not without some level of complication. While jumping back and forth between Facebook and Zoom (because I monitored both screens on the same computer) I attempted to stop screen sharing and image on Zoom, but ended up stopping the recording instead.
On panicked impulse I hit the record button again. But alas, I ended up with two recordings instead of one. Doubly unfortunate for me, I have no video editing experience or programs to edit my video. Fortunately, I still had the complete Facebook recording.
You Live and Learn
I still hope to find the means to edit (or find someone to edit) the spliced Zoom video and post it on a better platform than Facebook. In the meantime, I’m chalking the experience to another fine life-lesson learned, and pressing onward with efforts to share Tale of the Clans in the new year.
Tale of the Clans Events Ahead
Though I’ve endeavored to slow down a bit in the coming year to work on new projects, that doesn’t mean 2023 marks the end of our Tale of the Clans adventure.
Oh, no, my friends! The adventure has just begun!
